2014 Book Battle Winers

First, before I post the winner for the 2014 Area Wide Book Battle, on behalf of myself and all the committee members, we all want to say that each and every one of you who competed to day are winners.

In an age where there are so many distractions considered far more exciting than sitting and reading a book, each of you know just how exciting reading about different characters, setting, and problems can actually be. 

A book is the only place in which you can examine a fragile thought without breaking it, or explore an explosive idea without fear it will go off in your face. It is one of the few havens remaining where a man’s mind can get both provocation and privacy. ~Edward P. Morgan
